  • Performance metrics and learning patterns

Automatically Collected Information

  • IP address and device information
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Usage data (features used, time spent, interactions)

2. How We Use Your Information

Important: We never train AI models on your personal information, study materials, or academic content.

We work with trusted third-party providers to deliver our services:

  • Supabase: Database and authentication
  • Stripe: Payment processing
  • OpenAI & Google Gemini: AI generations

These providers have access only to information necessary to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to protect your data.

5. Optional Integrations

You may choose to integrate third-party services like Google Drive or Notion for class files. These integrations are entirely optional. When enabled, we access only the data necessary to generate AI features with your study materials.

We do not sell your personal information.

We only share your data in the following limited circumstances:

  • With service providers who help us operate the platform
  • When required by law or to comply with legal processes
  • To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users
  • With your explicit consent

7. Student Data Protection

Age Requirement

Amigo.study is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.

Educational Data Commitment

In accordance with educational privacy standards:

  • We do not create advertising profiles based on student data
  • We do not sell student information to third parties
  • We use student data solely for educational purposes
  • We implement appropriate security measures to protect student information

8. Your Privacy Rights

For California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (which we don't do).

For EU/UK Residents (GDPR)

EU and UK residents have rights under GDPR including data access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to processing.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you close your account, we will delete your data within 90 days, except where we're required to retain it for legal, tax, or audit purposes.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" above. Continued use of Amigo.study after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
